
Andy Barron and Jackie Lee took the honours in the opening round of the Medis Cross Country League at Ballanette in Lonan yesterday (Sunday).
The first of five rounds in the 2011/12 season, they secured the senior men’s and women’s titles respectively.
The other winners were: under 20 men Ollie Lockley; under 20 women Sarah Astin; under 17 men Ammon Yeardsley; under 17 women Ally Ross; under 15 boys Calvin Smith; under 15 girls Katie Astin; under 13 boys David Mullarkey; under 13 girls Danielle Barton; under 11 boys Niall Caley; under 11 girls Jessica Hill; under nine boys Alex Read; under nine girls Sinead Cox; short course Ryan Fairclough.
Meanwhile, another Manx athlete, Murray Lambden competed in the Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday finishing in three hours, 13 minutes and seven seconds.
