Basketball: Isle of Man competing in Commonwealth Games qualifiers

Men's and women's side to face Wales after defeat to England and NI

Isle of Man men's and women's basketball teams are competing at the Commonwealth Games qualifiers this weekend in the 3v3 event taking place in Manchester.

The men's squad is made up of Ross Wilson, Viktor Capkanovski, Chris Wolfendale, and Jack Wilson.

The men have already taken on England, losing out 21-6, and Northern Ireland, which ended in a 22-4 defeat last night.

They will now face Wales at 11:30am.

Meanwhile, the women's team is made up of Becky Dunne, Zoe Kirkham, Mairi Harrison, and Danni Murphy.

They played England last night to a 21-3 defeat and were beaten by Northern Ireland 22-4. They also now face Wales.

The winner of each final will secure their spot in the men’s and women’s 3x3 competitions at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
