The ninth annual Manx Youth Games are being staged at venues around Douglas today (Saturday), after a big opening ceremony at 10am.
Hundreds of school children are competing in the twelve sports on offer, namely athletics, netball, cricket, tag rugby, tennis, badminton, basketball, hockey, squash, swimming, table tennis and girls' football.
The Bowl is the venue for the opening ceremony, because a new athletics track is being laid at the National Sports Centre, making it unavailable.
Paul Bridson from Manx Sport and Recreation told Manx Radio arrangements were coming together nicely:
Hockey: Under-14 boys heading to England Championship final
TT 2026: 20-year-old to make debut this summer
Hockey: Under 16 girls beaten in England Championship Semi-Final
Rugby: Island ladies selected for UK side
Football: Corinthians win late against Peel to book FA Cup final spot
