Manxman defeats current IPA world champion
Manx professional 8-Ball Pool player David Addinall has secured arguably the biggest match win of his career so far, defeating the current IPA world champion, Marc Farnsworth.
The pair met in the last 32 of the IPA’s ‘International’ competition yesterday, held in Tynemouth, which was streamed live on the BBC Sport website.
Addinall, who is currently ranked 28th in the world, emerged with an 8-3 victory.
However, he fell just one frame short in the last 16, losing 8-7 against world number nine John McAllister, who cleared up in one visit off his break in the decider.
Attentions now turn to the next tour event, which is being held on the Isle of Man next month and will see the finest players from across the globe flock to our shores.
