The second current member of the House of Keys for North Douglas has confirmed he will be defending his seat in September's general election.
John Houghton has served the constituency for three full five-year terms, having previously run a business at Willaston Post Office and Newsagents.
Announcing his candidacy, Mr Houghton says he has placed 'the serious issue of maintaining government revenue' at the top of his list'. He says 'This is my number one priority and no doubt will be the number one priority of many other candidates in the election as well'.
Mr Houghton says he will be sending out a comprehensive manifesto to all his constituents nearer the election.
He says he has worked closely with fellow North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson, the other person who has declared so far in the two seat constituency.
