Bowls: Isle of Man bound for world indoor championships

Two players to fly Manx flag in Scotland

The Isle of Man will be represented at the World Bowls Indoor Championship later this month.

Two players - Mark McGreal and Caroline Whitehead - have been chosen to fly the Manx flag at Aberdeen Bowls Club in Scotland from 20-25 April.

In total there will be 32 nations represented at the tournament by either one or two players.

All countries involved have a representative in the men's class whilst 27 of the 32 nations will field a competitor in the women's event.

Furthermore, the schedules for McGreal and Whitehead have also been confirmed.

The duo's campaign will begin with teaming up for an opening Mixed Pairs encounter with Hong Kong on the opening day (20 April) at 8.30am.

In the men's singles, McGreal's first match will be against Boaz Markus of Israel shortly on the same day 1pm.

At 2.45pm that afternoon Whitehead will begin her women's singles campaign against Switzerland's Caroline Lehman.

The final two days of the tournament (24 April & 25 April) will be livestreamed on the World Bowls and World Bowls Series YouTube channels.
