Cyclist delighted at Gold Coast inclusion
Cyclist Sam Brand will make his Commonwealth Games debut when he heads to Australia in April.
He's one of 11 cyclists named in the 32-strong squad competing in the Gold Coast this year.
The announcement of his inclusion in Team Isle of Man came as what he calls 'the icing on the cake' of a successful 2017.
He'll be representing the Island with the likes of Mark Cavendish and Lizzie Holden on the bike.
Brand has been riding for Team Novo Nordisk as a stagiaire and has praised them for continuing his development and allowing him the opportunity to travel with Manx squad.
He says he's keen to continue his good form into 2018 - but hasn't set himself any New Year's resolutions:
FC Isle of Man back on travels for Longridge Town test
Hockey: League titles and relegations could be decided this weekend
Rugby: Douglas hoping to maintain high standing at Firwood Waterloo
Football: Laxey and Onchan out to secure Railway Cup spots
