Two boys from the Buchan have become the first primary school-aged children from the Isle of Man to achieve representative honours in rugby.
Bevan Rodd and Cameron Wheeler have been selected to play for the North of England Prep Schools Barbarians against the Midlands at Worksop College on November 28.
Bevan and Cameron went to a trial at Sedbergh School along with their fellow Buchan under-11 teammates Spencer Cope and Nathan Pope.
On hearing the news of the the boys' selection last year's RFU president John Owen sent the following message to their coach at Buchan, Neil MacGregor.
"How nice to hear from you and what great news for your two youngsters! To be selected for representative honours at any level in the game is truly superb. Would you kindly pass on my best wishes to them not only for that game but for the future."
