Burden earns champions victory

Colby secured their first victory of the Regency Travel Women’s league with a 7-0 win over newcomers Douglas Athletic yesterday (Sunday).

Sara Ismail-Sutton (three), Lotti Cain (two), Stephanie Hall and Kayleigh Callow were on target for the southerners.

The big game of the day went the way of the champions - Corinthians registered their second win of the season by defeating Peel 1-0 at Douglas Road.

Jade Burden scored the winner for the Whites with a first half strike.

Gymns clocked up the biggest victory of the afternoon with an 11-0 score-line against Old Boys at Tromode.

No doubting the star of the show - Alannah Hall hit seven of the goals.

Nicki Naden, Kim Carney, Rhiannon Brew and Kayleigh Georgeson netted the others.
