Island resident Cal Crutchlow secured the best finish of his MotoGP career with fourth place in Sunday’s Valencia MotoGP.
The British rider just missed out on a place on the podium in the final race of the season.
He also claimed rookie of the year award.
New world champion Casey Stoner produced a remarkable late charge to win, overtaking Ben Spies on the final corner to win his 10th race of 2011.
