He beat his own course record by 36 seconds, finishing in 6:56.26.
168 competitors made it to the Sound yesterday afternoon.
Mark Hempsall was second, over five minutes behind Callister, and Jock Waddington was third.
Newcomer Janice Quirk won the ladies' race and finished seventh overall. Her time makes her the second fastest lady over the current course.
