An outgoing MHK seeking re-election next month believes he has played a significant part in making the Department of Tourism 'leaner and keener'.
Geoff Corkish was elected to the House of Keys for the first time in 2006 after working for many years as the public relations officer for the Steam Packet Company.
Mr Corkish has represented the people of West Douglas and been a member of the Department of Tourism and Leisure, the Department of Trade and Industry and more recently the Department of Economic Development.
He says a lot of work in tourism has an affect on other areas of the Manx economy and he is proud of what he has achieved (listen to audio file below):
So far five people have indicated their intention to contest the two seats in West Douglas.
They are the outgoing MHKs, Mr Corkish and John Shimmin, and challengers Martin Moore, John Skinner and Chris Thomas.
