A candidate in the House of Keys general election is calling for the next government to ring-fence spending on education.
Geraldine O'Neill is challenging for one of two seats in East Douglas.
Mrs O'Neill, a teacher at St Ninian's High School, says she is very concerned that some staff who leave aren't being replaced.
On Mandate today (Thursday), she told John Moss she would campaign for sustained investment in the Island's highly regarded education system (listen to audio file below):
Three other people have so far indicated their intention to stand in East Douglas, namely outgoing MHKs Brenda Cannell and Chris Robertshaw, and Richard Kissack.
