It was a disappointing day for the Manx Missile at the Tour of Down Under today, as he watched colleagues past and present battle it out for the stage victory.
Mark Cavendish finished in 62nd, with the first 115 riders being given the same time in a bunch finish.
The stage was won by Cav's fellow HTC Highroad rider Matt Goss, who beat their former team mate and reigning champion Andre Greipel in a sprint for the line.
It was Goss’s second victory of the week, the Australian having also won the pre-race criterium on Sunday, although that doesn't count towards the Tour of Down Under's overall classification.
