Isle of Man cycling star Mark Cavendish races for the first time in 2010 today, after a tooth abscess forced him to withdraw ahead of the recent Tour of Qatar.
The Manx Missile is in Spain for the five day Ruta del Sol.
His main aims for the year are to win the Green Jersey at the Tour de France and the World Road Race Championship in Melbourne.
Broadcaster and journalist Phil Liggett, who has followed the Tour de France for over 30 years, says Cav may have to rely on more than just stage wins to achieve his goal:
