Manx Missile tastes success for new team
Mark Cavendish has won the opening stage of the Tour of Qatar.
The victory means he has both the golden and silver jersey in his possession as he saw off Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) and Andrea Guardini (Astana) in a sprint finish.
The Manx Missile, racing for Team Dimension Data, also picked a mid-stage time bonus sprint. He leads Modolo by eight seconds, with Guardini at 11 seconds.
