Mark Cavendish had a lucky escape after today's brutal Tour de France stage.
The 200km route from Pinerolo to Galibier Serre-Chevalier featured three of the hardest category climbs, the final one being around 24km.
Cavendish came in in a group of 88 riders, over half the field, who were outside the limit of 33 minutes 7 seconds behind the stage winner.
He's been allowed to continue racing but has been docked 20 points.
He now leads Jose Joaquin Rojas, who finished inside the time limit, by just 15 points.
Tomorrow is the last stage in the Alps before a time trial on Saturday and Sunday's final dash into Paris.
