European season draws to a close for Manx Missile
Mark Cavendish is about to bring the curtain down on the toughest career of his road season to date.
The Manx Missile has been hit by injury and illness throughout spells of 2017 – most notably the Tour de France crash which left him with a broken shoulder.
He is set to race the London Six Day later this month with former teammate Peter Kennaugh and, after missing so much, admits he has to keep racing this year to make sure he is fully prepared for the 2018 season.
His 56th place at Paris Tours yesterday (Sunday) meant he was the best finisher on the day for Dimension Data as it brought its European season to a close.
