Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish is celebrating becoming a World Champion.
The Laxey rider teamed up with Bradley Wiggins to win the Madison race at the World Track Championships at the Manchester Velodrome.
Riding for Great Britain, the duo clinched the gold medal ahead of Germany and Denmark which claimed the bronze.
Cavendish had been a doubt beforehand but the Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year passed a fitness test to race, securing Great Britain a berth in the Madison race at the Olympics in Bejing in the process.
Team Isle of Man Cycling Manager Gary Hinds says it’s a magnificent achievement.
