Manx Missile beats competition to win second stage
Mark Cavendish sealed his 157th pro victory by winning the second stage at the 2022 Tour of Oman today (11 February).
The Manx Missile took the win with the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team with a solid performance on the 167.5km stage between Naseem Park and Suhar Corniche.
He held off competition from Kaden Groves of Team BikeExchange-Jayco who finished second as well as Amaury Capiot of Team Arkea-Samsic who came home in third.
It's a second podium for Cavendish in two days at the event as he also took second place in the first stage of the competition yesterday (10 February).
On that occasion he was only bested in a sprint finish by Colombia's Fernando Gaviria of UAE Team Emirates.
