Mark Cavendish finished over eight minutes behind winner Franco Pellizotti on yesterday's stage 16 time trial of the Giro d'Italia.
Mountains aren't the Laxey rider's strongpoint and despite it being short distance-wise, the stage was effectively one long and very steep slope.
It's described by the event's website as a thumping big 13.8km climb from San Vigilio Di Marebbe to Plan De Corones, with sections at 24%.
Today is a rest day, with the riders back on the road tomorrow tackling the 192km seventeenth stage from Sondrio to the Swiss town of Locarno.
