Champions progress in cup

Bacchas A are through to the final of the Wi-Manx Men’s Cup after overcoming battling Castletown 3-0 on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, goals from Richard Le Page, Andy Whiting and Will Wood fired the champions to the final.

It was a similar story in the Wi-Manx Women’s Cup as champions Vikings A thrashed Valkyrs B 11-0.

Five goals from the prolific Kim Carney, doubles from Katie Erock and Sarah Breen and one each from Danielle Coombes and Hayley Crowe sealed the rout.

They’ll meet Castletown A in the final after they saw off Valkyrs A on penalty flicks.

Kylie Rollins was the star of the show, saving all three Valkyrs’ flicks as they won 3-0 in the shoot-out.

The sides had drawn 1-1 with Lauren Stewart on target for Town and Hannah Heselton scoring for Valkyrs.
