Champions' unbeaten run is over

St Georges’ 52-match unbeaten league run is over.

Rushen United, the last side to beat the Geordies in April 2010, were ironically the team to end the run with a 1-0 victory at Croit Lowey in the Canada Life Premier League.

Ramsey showed their potential with goals from Matthew Montgomerie (two) and Mike Fernandez.

Castletown earned what could be crucial three points with a 2-1 victory over Marown, in a match marred by a broken leg sustained by Town striker Alex Crawley.

Ashley Southern opened the scoring before Crawley doubled the lead.

Nigel Shimmin pulled one back for Marown but Town took the points.

St John’s continued their good start with a 3-0 home success over battling Gymns – Callum Taggart, Stephen Glover and Andy Glover the scorers.
