Ramsey are out of the Standard Bank Tinker Cup. The 2009 winners were beaten in the second round on Sunday by St John’s. Batting first the northerners were dismissed for 115 runs with Ashley Webster top scoring on 28. Jaco Jansen took 4 for 14 from 8 overs and Akkie van der Berg claimed 3 for 41.
The Saints then rushed to victory at nearly eight an over. Skipper Chris Hawke smashed an unbeaten 53 and Greg Hawke made 37 before being trapped by Chris McConnell. But that was the only wicket St John’s lost as they recorded victory by nine wickets.
They will be joined in the semi-final draw by Castletown, Cronkbourne and Valkyres.
