160km section regarded as a sprinters stage
Mark Cavendish has the opportunity today to equal the record for the most Tour de France stage wins.
The 160 kilometres that make up stage 12 will see riders end in Nimes – a stage that the Manx Missile won in 2008.
He currently has 33 stage wins to his name – just one behind record holder Eddie Merckx.
