Cal Cooper of St Jude’s won the season-long British 450 motorcycle racing championship at Cadwell Park on Saturday.
Manx Sport Aid recipient Cooper, 16, riding a RRV 450 ApriliaGP machine prepared by JDF Racing, clinched the title with six races to spare.
He also became the fastest ever 450 rider round the Lincolnshire circuit with a blistering lap that would have held up against much bigger and faster machines.
With 12 wins to his name and countless podium places, Cooper was determined to finish off what has been a very toughly fought campaign ahead of the final round at Mallory Park.
