Great bowling from Cronkbourne seamer Neil Holmes destroyed Ramsey in Sunday's final of the Standard Bank League Cup.
Batting first the northerners lost two quick wickets and then, with the total on 19, Holmes tore the heart out of the Ramsey side with a hat-trick. He was aided by some fine wicket-keeping from Steve Clague who took one catch and then on the third ball pulled off a splendid stumping.
Wickets then tumbled and the only light in the Ramsey gloom came from Chris McConnell. He struck three fours before Alex Stokoe bowled him.
The side were dismissed in just 23 overs for 48. Holmes returned the superb figures of 6 for 15 from his ten overs. There was also good support from Phil Richardson (2-6) and Alex Stokoe (2-12).
Cronkbourne didn't hang around getting the runs. A lively Pete Richards hit 32 and Max Stokoe made 12 as they raced to victory without losing a wicket.
