Cal Crutchlow could miss the British MotoGP for the second successive year after crashing heavily in final practice at Silverstone.
The Ramsey resident lost control of his bike at Chapel corner and landed awkwardly.
He was initially diagnosed with a left-ankle sprain, but was taken to a local hospital after an increase in swelling.
He's due to be kept in for the afternoon to undergo further checks and will not take part in qualifying.
If he's given the all-clear by doctors Crutchlow will be able to take part in tomorrow's race, albeit starting from the back of the grid.
