Cycling: CC IoM makes winning start at 2026 Ras Tailteann

Guest rider Rowen Baker takes victory on first stage

Cycling Club Isle of Man has made a winning start to this year's Ras Tailteann road race in Ireland.

The Manx squad's guest rider, Rowen Baker stormed to take victory on stage one at the finish line in Kilmallock this afternoon (20 May).

Meanwhile, Connacht Cycling's Ewan MacKie finished second whilst Foran CT rider, Danylo Riwnyi completed today's podium in third.

The Island team heads into this year's event as defending champions after another guest rider, George Kimber won the overall classification in 2025.

Representing Cycling Club Isle of Man this year are Manx riders Matthew Bostock, Zac Walker, Owen Collins as well as guest competitors, Baker and Daniel Stone.

Tomorrow's second phase will see competitors navigate a 182.9km route from Banteer to Rathmore.
