Landmark celebrating cyclist's achievements so far unveiled this week

Isle of Man professional cyclist, Matthew Bostock says it feels 'very, very special' to have a golden post box in his home town celebrating his achievements in the sport so far.

Earlier this week, the post box was decked out in its new colours in Glen Vine on the junction of Ballagarey Road and Greeba Avenue around the area the rider himself grew up him.

It follows what's already been an unforgettable season for Bostock in 2026 which saw him crowned a track world champion last month and win Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow in the summer.

Speaking to Manx Radio, Bostock says it feels  'surreal' to have been honoured in such a way and that he hopes the landmark can help inspire the next generation of sporting stars from the Isle of Man:

The Manxman has excelled in both Isle of Man and Great Britain colours in the latest campaign, particularly on the track.

Bostock won the Men's Scratch Race at the UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai, China last month and at the same event won bronze in the Men's Team Pursuit.

Several months prior, won gold whilst representing the Isle of Man in the Men's 40km Points Race at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in August.

Outside of those, he's also secured multiple British national track titles this year as well some notable wins on the roads which include winning the Open race at the 2026 British National Circuit Championships.

Separately, Bostock has since been nominated for the British Cycling National Champion of the Year award for 2026 with public voting open for that until Saturday, 14 November.
