Manx rider confirmed plans to retire earlier this week

Manx pro cyclist, Lizzie Holden has completed the final race of her professional cycling career.

The 28-year-old has been contesting the Tour of Guangxi one-day race in China with UAE Team ADQ today (19 October).

She helped the squad to a highest individual finish of fifth through teammate, Elynor Bäckstedt.

This comes after the Isle of Man rider confirmed on Monday this week (13 October) that she will be retiring from the sport at the end of the 2025 campaign.

Over the course of her career, some of Holden's major achievements include being crowned elite women's British national time trial champion in 2023 and contesting the Tour des France Femmes in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

She also managed top-ten finishes on both the Lotto Belgium Tour and Thüringen Ladies Tour on the Women's WorldTour.

Holden also represented the Isle of Man in the women's time trial and road race events at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
