Cycling: Max Walker selected for 2026 Tour de France

Manxman in EF Education-EasyPost team for iconic races

Isle of Man cyclist, Max Walker is set to take part in the iconic Tour de France this year.

The Manxman has been selected in the EF Education EasyPost squad for the upcoming race being held from this Saturday (4 July) until Sunday, 26 July.

Joining him on the EF Education EasyPost roster for the event will be Richard Carapaz, Ben Healy, Kasper Asgreen, Michael Valgren, Alex Baudin, Sean Quinn and Georg Steinhauser.

It'll be Walker's debut at the event and, as it stands, he is the only local competitor that will participate in this year's races.

The 2026 Tour de France will begin with the Grand Depart in Barcelona, Spain from Saturday, 4 July to Monday, 6 July which will also include the opening time trial stage in Barcelona on Saturday, 4 July

In what is his second full season with the USA-based team, Walker's notable results so far this year this season include a third-placed finish during the time trial stage at the Auvergne Rhone Alpes earlier this month.

Elsewhere, during the Paris-Nice in March, he had a best individual finish of sixth in the time trial stage there and also ended the event 50th in the overall classifications; 17th in the youth classification and 19th in the mountain classification.
