Manx and British cycling is mourning the loss of a stalwart of Merseyside cycling - Ken Matthews.
The founding member and President of the Kirkby Club was well known on the Island for his involvement in International Cycling Week.
He was the event's Chief Commissaire and Publicity Officer.
Ken also wrote regular cycling colums for the Liverpool Echo.
In a life dedicated to the sport, Ken Matthews took great delight in the success of Chris Boardman who began his career at Kirkby.
He also organised the season opening Eddie Soens Memorial Race at Aintree Racecourse.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
