Cycling: Ruby Oakes to make Women's WorldTour debut?

18-year-old in provisional startlist for Tour of Flanders this weekend

Up-and-coming Isle of Man cycling talent Ruby Oakes could make her Women's WorldTour debut later this week.

The 18-year-old is named in the provisional start list for the 2025 Tour of Flanders (Ronde Van Vlaanderen) on Sunday (6 April) for women's continental team DAS-Hutchinson.

The 2023 Isle of Man Commonwealth Youth Games medalist is one of two Island riders on the provisional roster along with Lizzie Holden for UAE Team ADQ.

Fellow professional competitor Becky Storrie isn't currently featured in the lineup for Team Picnic PostNL.

The startlist remains subject to change, potentially at short notice.

Oakes made the move to continental level with DAS-Hutchinson this season having represented junior side Shibden Apex RT in 2024.

She last competed yesterday (2 April) in the Dwars door Vlaanderen - also in Belgium - where she was a non-finisher.
