Cycling: Sam Brand extends stay with Team Novo Nordisk

Manx rider to continue with squad in 2025

Isle of Man pro cyclist Sam Brand will remain with Team Novo Nordisk (TNN) for the 2025 season.

The Manxman has been named in the squad's 20-rider roster for the upcoming campaign.

Next year will see the USA-based side make five changes to its personnel but Brand is one of several competitors kept in as one of the 'consistent performers' in 2024.

Announcing their lineup, TNN General Manager Vassili Davidenko says: "Year on year we are trying to provide the right platform and support for athletes with Type 1 Diabetes to succeed in elite competition.

"That means hard work from everyone in the team, a family thrives with togetherness and after 11 successful years with Novo Nordisk a family is what we have become."

Having come through Team Novo Nordisk's development setup in previous years, 33-year-old Brand has been part of the pro team setup there since 2020.

During the season he claimed a podium in March with an intermediate sprint podium at La Roue Tourangelle in France.

Brand also managed a top-20 finish (19th) on the opening time trial phase of the Okolo Slovenksa in June.

The core principal of Brand's Team Novo Nordisk is to raise awareness of diabetes and to educate and empower others affected in some way by the condition.
