Team confirms Manx rider take no further part in the race
Isle of Man cyclist Becky Storrie has sustained a broken collarbone during today's third stage of the 2024 Giro D'Italia Women.
Team dsm-firmenich PostNL - for whom the 25-year-old competes - confirmed the news following the conclusion of this afternoon's latest phase.
As a result, the Manx rider will take no further part in the Womens WorldTour event.
After a race in which teammate Juliette Labous managed a podium finish in third, the team states: "Unfortunately, Becky Storrie was involved in a crash on the run-in to the climb today.
"Cleared by in-race medical staff to continue and complete the stage, x-rays after the finish have sadly revealed a broken collarbone; her second of the season, so naturally Storrie will take no further part in the race."
The Island-born competitor also suffered a broken collarbone back in April following an incident during a training session.
The Isle of Man has one other local rider taking part in this year's Giro D'Italia Women with Lizzie Holden representing UAE Team ADQ.
