There were some excellent performances from some younger Isle of Man cyclists at the weekend.
In the opening round of British Cycling's prestigious circuit race series in Lincoln on Sunday, Matthew Bostock won the under-12 class in fine style, overcoming the very strong wind to outsprint his breakaway companions. He also won the two sprint laps to further increase his overall points tally.
In the under-14 event, Joshua Knights was a fine 10th and Leon Mazzone did well to come 15th in his first race in the older age group.
Jimmy Bostock was 11th in the under-10 race and Thomas Mazzone finished 23rd in the under-16 class, which had a large field of over 60 riders.
Thomas had better luck in the previous day's Terry Dolan youth series in Southport, finishing an excellent second overall, with brother Leon 6th in the under-14 category.
