Manx Sport has received a huge boost with the news that Kelly Holmes Education will lead a new Isle of Man Sport Excellence Programme.
Dame Kelly cemented her place in British sporting history when she became a double Olympic Champion in Athens in 2004 when she took gold in both the 800m and 1500m.
The scheme will be funded by Creechurch Capital, Microgaming and SMP Partners.
The exciting venture also brings together Isle of Man Sport, the Coaches Association and the Commonwealth Games Association.
The aim is to help 50 to 60 selected athletes and their coaches from a wide range of sports achieve their goals and to support Commonwealth Games team members.
