Davies Motorsport confirms MGP lineup

Team will contest Classic Superbike race for first time this year

The current Manx Grand Prix Classic Senior champions have confirmed their rider lineup for this year's event.

It's been announced Davies Motorsport will field Dominic Herbertson and Michael Rutter in the Classic Senior contest on board two Yamaha TX500 machines.

Herbertson - who's ridden for the outfit since 2017 - lapped at 108.870mph in last year's Classic Senior and was on course for a third-place finish before retiring on the last lap.

Rutter, meanwhile, will make his Davies Motorsport debut having already lapped at over 109mph previously on a Ripley Land Racing Seeley.

For the first time, the team will contest the Classic Superbike race in 2023 as part of its expansion at the meeting.

Mike Browne will compete in the class for the outfit on board a new Yamaha YZF750.

Browne has already impressed on the Snaefell Mountain Course this year as he took his first TT podium this year in the Supertwin TT Race 1 finishing second - he had been on course for at another podium in the Supertwin TT Race 2 before being forced to retire from the race in the first two laps.
