The chief executive of the main sponsor of Rally Isle of Man, the Department of Economic Development, is expressing disappointment at the cancellation of this year's event, and the one in 2012.
Colin Kniveton says his department has liaised closely with rally organisers to find a workable solution and it is a great pity it has not been possible to justify the considerable resources, financial and otherwise, which are required to stage such an event.
He says the department will continue to work with organisers to see if a suitable result can be achieved for 2013.
