Vagabonds were left to rue missed opportunities in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One as they went down 13-3 at home to Glossop.
A Johnny Beckley penalty in the first half provided Vagas’ only moment of joy.
There was disappointment for Ramsey as they went down 32-25 at Southport in Division Two.
Ramsey surged into a 17-0 lead inside quarter of an hour, courtesy of tries from Nick McCudden, Davide Mazonne and Luke Robertson, plus a conversion from Fintan Cummins.
Southport came back into the match and led 22-17 at half-time, a lead they extended after the break by 10 points.
An understrength Ramsey came back in the closing stages with a second Mazonne try and a Cummins penalty but it wasn’t quite enough.
The northerners did have the consolation of scoring two bonus points.
Douglas crashed 44-18 at Trentham.
Trentham made nine changes to the side thrashed at Ramsey last week and they proved decisive.
Douglas’ tries came from Jeff Miles and Will Latta, along with two penalties and a conversion from Tim Mitchell.
