
A late collapse meant Vagabonds lost 20-16 at home to Burnage in EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One on Saturday – all this, after leading 13-5 with 10 minutes to go.
A try from Sam Egan, plus a conversion and two penalties from skipper Jonny Beckley, gave Vagas a solid lead and they looked to be cruising to their second successive win.
However, two yellow cards in the closing stages cost them dearly as Burnage capitalised on the numerical advantage.
A late Beckley penalty gave the Manx side a glimmer of hope but by then the damage was already done.
