Northerners slip to third
A two hour flight delay meant Ramsey weren’t in the best frame of mind for their game at the top of South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three on Saturday.
Congleton took an early 7-0 lead before things went from bad to worse for the visitors.
Ramsey initially battled back and a Juan Callister try, converted by Dan Bonwick, levelled the scores.
The home side, however, forged ahead with Ramsey just clinging on and an Abuu Migoda try, converted again by Bonwick, saw them trail 27-14 at the break.
That was to be Ramsey’s final score and in a misty and gloomy second half, Congleton piled on the points running out 48-14 winners.
Ramsey dropped to third place in the standings with Congleton climbing above them.
