Isle of Man Football international Lee Dixon has received a four month suspended jail sentence and a thousand pound fine.
He was charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm to Joseph Peter Glover, following an incident at the end of last November's Division One fixture between Rushen and Dixon's club side St. Mary's.
Both clubs faced an Isle of Man Football Association investigation for failing to control their spectators and players, but no action was taken.
Now that Police enquiries have been completed, Lee Dixon and Rushen player Nicky Glover will face F.A. charges of bringing the game into disrepute.
