Douglas won 6-5 away at Holmes Chapel on Saturday to virtually clinch promotion from EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three.
Douglas led at half time with two Alex Nicholson penalties giving them the edge in atrocious conditions.
They hung on in the second half, playing into the strong wind, to stay clear at the top and can now only be caught on points difference, coupled with a highly unlikely set of results.
A single point from either of their two remaining matches will ensure promotion as champions.
