First-half lead enough to survive Ramsey comeback
Douglas Celts came out on top in a game of two contrasting halves in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Cup final, beating Ramsey 15-13 at Ballafletcher.
The Douglas side were kicking with the wind behind them for the first 40 minutes, with Rob Todd, Ollie Mealin and Mike Osborne all scoring first-half tries to open up a 15-0 advantage at the interval.
It didn't take Ramsey long to get back into the contest after the break though as Dan Bonwick led the fightback.
He kicked two early penalties before a 53rd minute try and conversion closed the gap to just two points, but Celts held on the pick up their second trophy of the season, having already lifted the Manx Trophy.
