Douglas’ lacklustre start to the season continued when they lost 23-21 away at Ruskin Park.
Park seized the early initiative and raced into a 10-0 lead.
Douglas chipped away with three Bryn Snellgrove penalties and, when Sam Randall’s try was converted by Snellgrove, they were leading 16-10.
However, a try late in the first half gave Park the 17-16 lead at the turn.
Two second half penalties put Park 23-16 up and that’s how it stayed until the end when Randall bagged his second.
Snellgrove missed a difficult conversion to tie the game and there was no more time for Douglas to score again.
