Douglas lost 17-19 at home to Sefton in a game which they really should have won.
Andy Hollis’ 75 metre run-in opened the scoring for Douglas and they went further ahead courtesy of skipper Bryn Snellgrove.
Tom Chamberlain converted both tries to put Douglas 14-0 in front.
Sefton hit back though and were soon in front.
Douglas chased the game in the final quarter and when Chamberlain added a penalty they clawed their way to within striking distance.
However, they were frustrated by mistakes and a couple of refereeing decisions which didn’t quite go their way.
