
Seven-time T.T. winner Michael Dunlop is to become a Freeman of his hometown of Ballymoney in Northern Ireland.
A special meeting of the Borough Council agreed give the 24 year-old the Freedom of Ballymoney.
He is only the fifth person to be honoured in this way - two of the others were his father Robert and uncle Joey.
The motion which was read by Alderman Bill Kennedy - his brother Frank was a member of the legendary Armoy Armada.
It reads - "That the Freedom of the Borough be conferred on Mr. Michael Dunlop in recognition of the great honour brought to the borough through his exceptional skill, ability and determination in achieving success as an international motorcycling road racer, and winning numerous Irish and Ulster Championships, including seven Isle of Man T.T. wins, with four victories in one week in 2013."
