Former Olympic champion and world triple-jump record holder Jonathan Edwards will officially open the Isle of Man Institute of Sport at the National Sports Centre at lunchtime.
The project is a partnership between the Manx Sports Aid Foundation and the Department of Tourism and Leisure.
Sports Editor Tim Glover reports:-
The facility includes a strength and conditioning gym, sports education suite, a lab for fitness testing and a medical services room.
Invited guests will be given conducted tours before the official opening by Jonathon Edwards who will then have a lap of the T.T. Course with Richard "Milky" Quayle.
Now fully on line, the Institute will be another invaluable factor in maintaining the remarkably high standard of performance from the island's top athletes.
